In 2025, the Surrey Economic Growth Fund successfully awarded approximately £2 million in its first round of grants, which is projected to generate a £9 million boost for Surrey’s local economy. Managed by Surrey County Council through Business Surrey, this initiative leverages central government funding—including the UK Shared Prosperity Fund—to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The initial £2 million investment is estimated to unlock significant match-funding and private investment, totaling a £9 million impact.
The funding is expected to create or safeguard 300 jobs and assist 1,350 residents into employment. Furthermore, Grants have been awarded to various industries, including advanced manufacturing, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, agritech, and artisan food production.
